Call for German Teachers at Sinjar Academy
Sinjar Academy is looking for German teachers to join our team. There is an opening to teach in person at the Sinjar Academy Center in Sinune, as well as teaching online. Please write “German Online” or “German Onsite” in the subject line, depending on which position you would like to apply for. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team as German teachers. Here’s what we value most in candidates:
Skills and Expertise
Proficiency in German: fluency in German, ideally with certifications like the Goethe-Zertifikat C1/C2 or equivalent to demonstrate your language skills.
Educational Background: A degree in German Language, Education, or a related field.
Teaching experience: TESOL, TEFL, Youtube or Instagram channels, certification.
Teaching Experience
Classroom or Online Experience: teachers who have taught German as a second language before, especially to diverse groups or in cross-cultural environments.
Course Design: designed or customized lessons to fit learners' unique needs.
Personal Approach
Cultural Awareness: Understanding the backgrounds of our students is essential.
Great Communication Skills: Teachers who can explain German in a way that’s clear, engaging, and easy to understand.
Empathy and Patience: Working with people sensitivity.
Technical Savvy
Comfort with Digital Tools: Many of our lessons use online platforms like Zoom or Moodle, comfortable with technology.
Creative Teaching Methods: Using videos, games, or other interactive tools to make lessons fun and effective is something we truly appreciate.

Adaptability: Teachers might need to step outside their comfort zone, whether it’s adjusting to new tools or teaching in non-traditional settings.
What Makes You Stand Out
Knowledge of Kurdish or Arabic: While it’s not required, being able to connect with our students in their native languages is a wonderful bonus.
Specialized Training: Credentials like DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) or DaZ (Deutsch als Zweitsprache).
